Katherine D. Gimmestad, kdgr56@umkc.edu, has a Ph.D. in psychology and is currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Administration in Bedford, Massachusetts. Besides her work on synesthesia, she is interested in Mindfulness, Acceptance, and Commitment approaches toward co-occurring substance abuse and in mental health disorders.

Maryann E. Huey, maryann.huey@drake.edu, teaches math and math education courses at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She is interested in how cognitive research and models of student thinking can inform K–grade 12 math and statistics instruction.
