Solutions coupled with drawings can illustrate students' understandings or misunderstandings, particularly in the area of proportional reasoning.

Both are also former middle school math teachers. Ruchti, a professor of science education, and Bennett, a professor of math education, are interested in the meaningful intersection of mathematics and science.
